Frequently asked questions
What is FixCaribbean?
An independent initiative connecting country-specific, browser-based civic reporting websites.
Is reporting free for residents?
The public reporting model is intended to be free for residents. Check the individual country website for current service arrangements.
Do I need an app?
No. Open the reporting website in your mobile or desktop web browser.
Does it work on my phone?
The country reporting websites are designed for modern mobile browsers, including Android and iPhone.
Does it use GPS?
With your permission, the browser can use available device location services. You can also choose the report location on a map.
Can I select the location manually?
Yes, where the country platform supports map selection or place search.
Do I have to create an account?
A password account is not normally necessary for an occasional report. A name and email address are required in the agreed reporting process.
Why is email verification required?
It helps confirm control of the supplied email address before the report proceeds. It is not a guarantee that a report is accurate or that the sender is human.
Is my email shown publicly?
Reporter contact details should not be published by default. Review the country platform’s privacy information for how details are handled and shared with recipients.
Can I add photos?
A photograph is generally optional, but can help describe the issue.
What happens after submission?
Where required, follow the verification email. The report then enters the relevant country reporting workflow, which can include moderation and recipient routing.
Who receives the report?
It depends on the country, location, category and confirmed recipient arrangements. A deployed platform is not automatically an official government partnership.
Who repairs the problem?
The responsible public authority, utility, owner or contractor—not FixCaribbean.
Is this a government website?
No. FixCaribbean is independent unless a specific formal arrangement is explicitly identified.
How can an authority request a demonstration?
Use the contact page to email the FixCaribbean team about a pilot or service discussion.
